AI & governance

AI strategy and governance for your school

A fact-based starting point for AI adoption: a shared view of your current capability, opportunity, risk, and priorities, leading to a plan your leadership team and board can act on with confidence.

Who this is for

Heads, principals, directors of education, deputy heads, and digital transformation or PD leads at any school or school group wanting to respond to generative AI in a considered way, not a rushed one.

The current reality

Generative AI is already reaching classrooms and staff rooms, and most schools are managing it without a shared plan: a mix of individual teacher choices, informal policy, and unanswered questions about data privacy and academic integrity. Leaders need progress, but must also manage risk, staff confidence, parent expectations, and finite resources.

What this helps you achieve

A clear starting point

An honest, fact-based view of where your school actually stands on AI, not an assumption based on what other schools are doing.

A prioritised roadmap

A plan grounded in your school’s own capability and risk, for your leadership team and board to act on.

Policy that gets used

Clear, practical AI policy and guidance for staff, learners, and families, not a document that sits unread.

Three ways we typically engage

Open conversation

Discovery call

A short, no-charge conversation to understand your context, before agreeing whether the roadmap is the right next step.

Strategic direction

AI Adoption Roadmap

A fixed-scope engagement: discovery interviews, a staff and leadership survey, a policy and practice review, a maturity snapshot, an executive findings session, and a prioritised roadmap.

Technical delivery

AI Solutions / Agents

Scoped, purpose-built AI tools, from assistants and knowledge bases to a broader AI-enabled environment, building on your school’s governance and capability work.

Scope, duration, and investment are agreed in writing for every project, and discussed on a first call at no charge.

Why ynnoova

Educator viewing an AI network graphic on a tablet in a school library

One of ynnoova’s founders managed IT for a corporate company before moving into education, and progressed through subject coordinator, technology leader, and head of department to senior school leadership, now focused on building technology-rich learning environments in schools. At ynnoova, they lead the AI Governance and Capability pillar: practical AI strategy grounded in what has actually worked inside a school, not generic vendor training.

Frequently asked questions

We do not want another generic AI pilot that goes nowhere. How is this different?

The roadmap starts with your school’s own capability, risk, and priorities, not a template. It ends with a prioritised plan and a build-capability and implement step, not a slide deck.

Do we need a large budget or a dedicated IT team to start?

No. The starting engagement is a fixed-scope discovery and roadmap project, sized for a single school, not an enterprise rollout.

Our staff have very different comfort levels with AI. Does that matter?

That is expected, and part of what the staff and leadership survey is designed to surface, so the roadmap accounts for where your school actually is, not where a generic programme assumes it should be.

Do we need to be an IB school for this?

No. This AI adoption work is for any school. Schools specifically preparing for an IB accreditation or evaluation visit have a separate, dedicated service.

How do you handle data privacy in this work?

The roadmap and policy review flag data-privacy risks specific to your school’s own tools and practices, but ynnoova does not provide legal or data-protection advice. Where a gap needs specialist input, we recommend a qualified data-protection adviser rather than covering it ourselves.
